A checklist of identified oribatid mite taxa from riverine freshwater environments from six islands in Polynesia (New Caledonia, Tahiti, Moorea, Rurutu, Tubuai, Raiatea) is presented; 18 species, 16 genera and eight families were recorded. Trhypochthoniellus longisetus (Berlese, 1904) and Trimalaconothrus albulus Hammer, 1972 prevailed on distribution. Fortuynia smiti sp. n. (Fortuyniidae) is described from New Caledonia. The new speciesis morphologically most similar to Fortuynia marina Hammen, 1960 from New Guinea, but it differs from the latter by the longer notogastral setae dm, lm, c2, p1, epimeral setae 3b and adanal setae ad1 and the presence of prodorsal lateral ridges.  相似文献

Casein was conjugated with dextran and galactomannan in a controlled dry state at a relative humidity of 79% and at 60°C for 24 hr. The covalent attachment of polysaccharides to casein was confirmed by SDS-PAGE and HPLC. The emulsifying activity of the casein-dextran and casein-galactomannan conjugates was 1.5 times higher than that of casein. The emulsion stability of the casein-dextran and casein-galactomannan conjugates was 10 times higher than that of casein. The improvement in these emulsifying properties reached a steady state when the conjugation of casein with polysaccharide was done for 24 hr in a controlled dry state, suggesting the rapid formation of conjugates through a Maillard reaction in the case of casein. Compared to commercial emulsifiers, the casein-polysaccharide conjugates showed better emulsifying properties in acidic and high-salt concentration systems.  相似文献

Summary Assessment of cultivar performance in a cultivar x location x year experiment is often difficult because of the presence of a location x year interaction. Our objective is to demonstrate a method on separation of environment effects (location x year) into predictable and unpredictabel components. The analysis consists of two parts: (1) a regression analysis based on location effects (averaged over years), assuming that the location means represent predictable environmental variation; and (2) the estimation of stability (denoted type 4) based on the years within location mean squares, assuming that years within location represent unpredictable environmental variation. From the regression analysis in (1), a breeder can determine the optimum range of locations in which a cultivar is well suited, and from (2) he can choose the most stable cultivars. The advantage of type 4 stability is that it is independent of the other cultivars included in the test and of the regression coefficient estimated for predictable variation. Three sets of published data are used to illustrate the analysis. Type 4 stability is compared with type 3 stability (deviation mean square from regression on environmental index) for genetic consistency. Summary Halobacterium cutirubrum was successfully cultivated under aerobic and microaerobic conditions. The early stationary phase of growth was obtained at 2.2 days and 45–55 days for aerated and non-aerated cultures, respectively. The dry cell yields were 0.7–1.2 gm/l in all preparations grown to early stationary growth phase. The cellular ratio of squalene to dihydro- and tetra-hydrosqualene decreased proportionately with decreased aeration rates.  相似文献

Populations evolve in response to the external environment, whether abiotic (e.g., climate) or biotic (e.g., other conspecifics). We investigated how adaptation to biotic, heritable environments differs from adaptation to abiotic, nonheritable environments. We found that, for the same selection coefficients, the coadaptive process between genes and heritable environments is much faster than genetic adaptation to an abiotic nonheritable environment. The increased rate of adaptation results from the positive association generated by reciprocal selection between the heritable environment and the genes responding to it. These associations result in a runaway process of adaptive coevolution, even when the genes creating the heritable environment and genes responding to the heritable environment are unlinked. Although tightening the degree of linkage accelerates the coadaptive process, the acceleration caused by a comparable amount of inbreeding is greater, because inbreeding has a cumulative effect on reducing functional recombination over generations. Our results suggest that that adaptation to local abiotic environmental variation may result in the rapid diversification of populations and subsequent reproductive isolation not directly but rather via its effects on heritable environments and the genes responding to them.  相似文献
